It's what I've grown up with and I like how straightforward they are.  I'm not a designer, and I don't particularly care if my monitor looks ;sexy'.  I'm a writer.  I like to open a program I can write in, and web-browse for research/procrastination purposes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I also have multiple geeky friends who are PC users that I can point the tower at when I need some new hardware installed. My current computer, a PowerBook G4, is the first Apple that I've ever owned, but I'm a definite convert. It's so easy to use, and I have so few problems, that I almost forget how much I struggled in the Windows world.
